Understanding of the World
Reception children learned about their local community and the people who help to keep us safe. They explored the important roles of police officers and firefighters and discussed how these community helpers support others.
The children created portraits of police officers and firefighters using chalk and crayons, developing their creativity and observational skills.
They also made books about people in our community, writing key facts about their jobs and responsibilities.
Through these activities, the children developed a greater understanding of the world around them and the valuable contributions of community helpers.
