Stone Age Day

October 2022

Year 3 children have had a blast from the past, during our fantastic Stone Age Day. The day started with children re-enacting being Stone Age hunters and gatherers. They looked for prehistoric animals and plants in Woodlands then collected leaves and flowers for a Stone Age printing activity.

Mammoth labelling, lighting fires using flint, cave art printing and making a delicious Stone Age fruit stew were some of the other activities enjoyed by all children. It was a fantastic opportunity for children to link all of their knowledge across reading, writing and topic through engaging and purposeful and memorable activities.
