Autumn leaves, little lights and fantastic forces!
Our woodland leaf hunt brought us plenty of golden yellows, alongside reds and browns. Inspired by Diwali and the importance of light during the darker months, we used bow saws , palm drills and a hot glue gun to create wooden candles topped with bright yellow leaf “flames”.
“Better to light a candle than curse the darkness!”
We also explored this half term’s topic: forces!
What pulls falling leaves towards the ground?
How far will a natural object roll?
Can we move it without touching it?
Which woodland treasures stack and balance best?

Just One Tree Day!
Today, the children celebrated Just One Tree Day, learning all about trees and their vital role in protecting our environment.
They explored the impact of deforestation, discovered how trees support wildlife and biodiversity, and discussed why it is so important to protect our planet.
The children also learned about the amazing charity Just One Tree and how every £1 donated helps plant one tree around the world!
We are so excited to see our very own school forest grow around the world, one tree at a time! Together, we can make a difference and help create a greener future for generations to come.
