In English, Year 4 were working in groups to sort arguments for and against zoos.

In Year 4, the children have been developing their Oracy skills , working in pairs to hot-seat one another as characters from our class text The Girl Who Stole an Elephant , imagining how the characters might be feeling at this stage of the story .

They will develop these ideas next week to help them write an informal letter in role as one of the main characters , using lots of emotive language.

In English, Year 4 children were looking at a selection of different words that they might use in a suspenseful story . In groups, they were sorting and discussing each word into its word class — noun, verb, adverb or adjective.
