Continuing their ‘Birds’ topic in Art this week, Year 1 explored materials and movement by creating paper plate birds that rock back and forth
Using colourful feathers , colouring pencils , googly eye stickers and 3D sugar paper beaks, the children got wonderfully creative in this fun (and slightly messy!) lesson.

Year 1 have loved continuing their ‘Birds’ topic in art this week. They have been making colourful collages by manipulating two different types of paper (sugar and tissue) and making sure to include all the key features of a bird-eyes, beaks, feathers and legs. The results have been fun and creative!

In Art this term, our topic is ‘Birds’. Year 1 have been developing their observational skills by closely studying and drawing different bird feathers. They explored the unique shapes, patterns and texture of each feather, taking great care to capture these details in their work. We are so proud of their focus, creativity and the beautiful drawings they have produced.
