Reception children used the 2graph programme to illustrate Spring.

In ICT, the Reception children used the computer to draw vegetables in a pot inspired by the story Oliver’s Vegetables. They used simple drawing tools to create pictures of different vegetables, developing their early digital skills and creativity while linking their learning to the story.

In ICT, the children developed their mouse control and creativity by drawing root vegetables inspired by our weekly story, The Enormous Turnip.

February 2026

In this weeks ICT lesson, Reception children developed their mouse control skills by using a drawing program to create pictures of a beanstalk. They practised clicking, dragging, and selecting tools and colours independently. Through the activity, children used their imagination to predict what they might see when climbing the beanstalk, adding creative details to their pictures. The lesson encouraged both ICT skills development and imaginative thinking, with opportunities for children to explain and discuss their ideas.

February 2026

Children in EYFS have been practising using the mouse to draw pictures linked to Jack and the Beanstalk. Clicking, dragging and controlling the mouse while creating simple digital drawings.

Janaury 2026

During ICT, the Reception children drew mice linked to The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse, developing fine motor skills, mouse control, hand–eye coordination, and confidence in using basic digital tools.

Reception children’s mouse skills are developing well. This week they drew pictures of Goldilocks and the Three Bears using a paint program.
