Welcome to St John Fisher's Parent Teacher Association
Striving to enrich the lives of our children by bringing together our community through a range of social and fundraising events.
We do our best to add those little ‘extras’, where government funding falls short... The ‘fun things’ that make learning more interesting and exciting. Without your support, we fall short!
Note: the Chair/Co-Chair positions are currently open to anyone who wishes to step forward and lead the committee forward. The role itself requires the facilitation of meetings and key events throughout the school year, which in the past have been crucial towards supporting the school and its children.
The Role: Run the PTA is run in line with principles agreed with parents/teachers and according to the wishes of all of its representative members; to raise funds to support extracurricular school activities and equipment
Message from the previous co-chairs: PTA committee Chairpersons should ideally be refreshed every 2 years, and after 3 years of service we decided it was time to allow fresh faces to take the reigns and lead the committee forward. This is a highly rewarding and satisfying role; to know that you've helped to raise much-needed money for our school. It's crucial that you're enthusiastic and have a genuine desire to try and enrich the lives of the children. Organisation and delegation are key, especially when it comes to running events. Some of the things we're really proud of are: revamping the website, creating a cloud-based administration function, issuing regular comms, and setting up regular income through online initiatives like EasyFundraising and AmazonSmile - it may not be huge amounts, but everything helps. Our children also learn the importance of lending a hand where you can and the hard work that goes into organising an event. There's really no substitute for seeing the smiles on their faces when they're treated to things like the Christmas pantomime or Scalextrics fun day.
Although we've stepped down to make way for new leadership, we will fully support anyone who wishes to step into the role with guidance and transitional support wherever and whenever it's needed.
What is it? It's a cash prize draw that takes place near the end of every school term, offering £100/£30/£20 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes. As it takes place 3 times a year, you have the potential of winning up to £300 from a single ticket!
How much does it cost? It's £10 per ticket to enter the draw and there are no limits on the number of tickets you can buy. The more tickets you buy the higher your chances of winning.
Where does the money go? Every penny raised goes towards materials or fun events for the children. So... if you don't win, you can always take comfort in knowing you've contributed towards enriching your child/rens school life

DISCLAIMER: We know it seems arbitrary to have to fill out a form when you know you're going to just help out on the day whilst attending an event your child is involved in, but it helps us massively when advance planning, hence the polite request. Go on. Do it. These links are quick and simple google forms that'll take you less time to complete and submit than it did to read this piece of text, honestly! And by doing so you will not be committing your life away. We will simply use your contact information to get in touch in advance of an event to find out if you're attending and whether you can help out when you do. No pressure!
