Welcome to St John Fisher's Parent Teacher Association
OUR AIM: To help the school and our children by providing additional resources outside of the normal school budget.
We do this through a number of fundraising events and activities throughout the year, and help to fund extracurricular activities for your children by plugging the gap from school funding.
The more we raise, the more we can do for our children, and the more enriching their school life becomes.
Like any PTA, we rely on your support, so please do come forward, get involved with things that matter to your child and help to enrich their school experience!
This has been sold out, anyone on the waiting list will be considered on Monday.
Tickets will be sent out to your children next week, so please look out for these and contact the Friends Team if you have any issues
THE CHRISTMAS SHOPPING EVENT - Friday 6th December from morning to midday at the school
This is an opportunity for your child to handpick and purchase a special gift for you or a loved one for Christmas. £3 per gift, maximum of two gifts per child.
The most efficient way is to submit your form is online: https://tinyurl.com/sjfchristmasshopping.
When completing online or when giving money please leave the exact amount of money, in a small sealed bag/envelope at the school office clearly marked with your(s) child/rens name/s & class. We must be able to read/know who the money came from!
ps. we tested it, and it literally does only take 10 seconds on your mobile phone! This event requires lots of support and we could really do with your help!
Friends' Mince Pie, Tea and Coffee afternoon - Friday 6th December at the school
On the same day we are hosting our Friends Mince Pie, Tea and Coffee Afternoon. There will be tea, there will be coffee, as one would expect, lots of tasty mince pies and a chance to mingle and meet Friends...AND... we will also be announcing the winner of our first draw for the 100 CLUB! (see below)
Closer to the time we will be asking for Mince Pie donations for the event too, so when doing your weekly shop please bear the event in mind!
Race Night - Absolutely awesome evening. A huge thank you to Angela Taaffe for managing the entire event! We raised nearly £6,000 towards our 2nd school minibus! Check out the Race-Night Poster and our short video clip of the race night

This is a vital communication channel between you the and School / Friends PTA. Class Rep share important news regarding Friends social events and activities, and we're almost there, but still on the lookout for Class Reps to come forward for 2R, 4C, 5R and 5S (as you'll note from the table below).
If you're in one of theses classes and are already covering the class rep role, or would like to be considered, please do get in touch by submitting the SJF Class Rep form: https://tinyurl.com/sjfclassrep (or scroll down and click on the SJF Class Reps image)
|Reception R||Christina Conboy|
|Reception C||Mary Quinn|
|Reception S||Diana Burnaby|
|3C||Marie Gurhy & Alisha-May Williams|
|5C||Maria Mauricio & Mirvette Russo|
The Class Rep role:
1. Try and attend at least 1 Friends meeting per term at the school for 1-2 hours, to keep informed
2. Help to promote/support any class social gatherings for children/parents (ad hoc)
3. Share the above through communication to class parents (mostly through Whatsapp).
And just in case you’re still sitting on the fence and haven’t quite made up your mind, then please take some time to read this very heart-warming message that we received from a Year 6 Parent:
“As Year 6 Class Reps we initially volunteered for just one year in Reception, and here we are, in our children’s final year, still Class Reps. Honestly, neither of us were desperate to hand over the reins. Debbie and I agree that being a Class Rep is not a hardship nor is it too taxing; we are blessed with great parents and children who all worked together and communicate constructively. Together we are simply supporting the Friends Committee which in turn supports all our children in school. Please consider joining as a Class Rep, it is such a great way to contribute to the life of the school and particularly your child’s class. Consider rotating yearly, even termly. You don’t even have to be a parent/carer on the playground every day to do this - neither Debbie or I are there every day and it still works for us . Go for it !” Eithne
Eithne & Debbie - The Friends PTA are humbled and ever grateful for the many years of support you have given to the school. Thank you!
Tuesday 8th October - HARVEST FESTIVAL
We raised an amazing £685.09 for CAFOD! Thank you to all of you who baked, caked, and gave up your time to help on the day!

DISCLAIMER: We know it seems arbitrary to have to fill out a form when you know you're going to just help out on the day whilst attending an event your child is involved in, but it helps us massively when advance planning, hence the polite request. Go on. Do it. These links are quick and simple google forms that'll take you less time to complete and submit than it did to read this piece of text, honestly! And by doing so you will not be committing your life away. We will simply use your contact information to get in touch in advance of an event to find out if you're attending and whether you can help out when you do. No pressure!
please include your child(s) name / class, your contact number and who your enquiry is directed to
The SJF Pupil Voice Group would like to thank each and every parent of St John Fisher School, for all their hard work and support towards the extra resources they have provided for the school:
THANK YOU !!
