Transition Workshop

This afternoon the Year 6 children gathered around the campfire, sharing their worries about high school and symbolically burnt them in the flames.
In addition, the children created a lasting memory by donating a 'Bug Hotel'. This thoughtful project will provide a haven for insects and a source of fascination for the students of St John Fisher for years to come.
The session concluded with toasting marshmallows over the fire, bringing a sweet end to their reflective session.

Over the last few weeks, Yr6 have had transition workshops with Shona our school counsellor. They’ve used the time to reflect on the special memories they have created at St John Fisher, thought about their hopes for the future and learnt strategies to manage the wide range of emotions they are feeling in this time of change.
