School Vision, Values and Mission

Mission Statement: Growing and Learning Together through Christ

Values: Faith, Love, Hope, Wisdom, Courage, Justice and Respect.

School Vision: St. John Fisher strives to offer all children an outstanding Catholic education with Christ at the centre.

The gospel values and key skills that permeate school life, develop independent life-long learners who flourish.

At St John Fisher we put our vision into practice daily:

In the daily living out of our Catholic faith, we aim to ensure that religious education and spiritual development will permeate every aspect of the curriculum, so that it is explicit and implicit throughout. Our Gospel values of Faith, Love, Hope, Wisdom, Courage, Justice and Respect are central.

Rooted in prayer and lived out in the daily life of the school, the children are supported, through the curriculum, to grow in faith and deepen their relationships with God and each other. The curriculum aims to meet the needs of all children whatever their gifts and talents. The children will develop:

  • spiritual and moral values from the Gospel including respect for themselves and others.
  • Children will have strong religious literacy skills and a deep understanding of the sacraments.
  • an ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • understanding that learning is a lifelong process
  • the tools to recognise if they are mentally and emotionally happy
  • lively, creative enquiring minds through questioning, investigating and making rational decisions
  • confidence in the basic skills of English and Maths
  • knowledge and understanding of the world in which they live
  • attitude of respect and care for our environment
  • an understanding that our actions have an impact on others and on the environment
  • appreciation and respect for their own culture, fundamental British Values, the arts, and the culture and arts of other communities
  • respect for all differences and the ability to accept and include others
