We all know how important it is to keep our children safe.  At school, as part of our computing curriculum, our children have regular E-Safety training.

Away from school our children are able to access social network sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat from a wide variety of devices – iPads, mobile phones and some games consoles. We realise that many children have created a social network profile before the correct age (usually 13); this should be discouraged.  It is important to talk to your child about the sites they are using and find out together how to set privacy tools.  These tools will help to keep their profile private and prevent your child from giving out personal information to strangers. Support your child in ensuring that they only add contacts to these sites that they know and trust offline.  Many sites have a ‘Parent Guide’ to guide you through setting controls.
