Year 1 Science – Growing and Cooking!
Today in Science, Year 1 explored the topic of Growing and Cooking. We had lots of fun making cress and cucumber sandwiches! The children talked about how different types of food grow and learned what plants need to grow strong and healthy — like water , sunlight , and soil . As we made our tasty sandwiches, we thought about where each ingredient comes from and how it’s grown. It was a fantastic hands-on experience combining science with healthy eating!

Year 1 have been learning about life cycles of seeds in their Science topic ‘Caring for the Planet’. We have planted our own sunflower seeds and can’t wait to see them grow! We have been using our creative skills to make our own Sunflowers ready for Mother’s Day.
