Headstone Manor Museum
November 2025
Today, 2N travelled back to 1666 during their exciting visit to Headstone Manor Museum for The Great Fire of London workshop. The children explored how the Great Fire began, why wooden buildings like those at Headstone Manor were so vulnerable, and what changes were made afterwards to keep people safer.
They also learned about the early days of fire insurance and even created their own clay fire marks—just like the ones used in the 17th and 18th centuries to show which buildings were insured! It was a hands-on, fascinating trip that truly brought history to life!
