Today, our Catholic Life Ambassadors attended a Pupil Conference at Sacred Heart with fellow pupils from the Trust Schools. They spent the day together in prayer, reflecting on the Jubilee year and produced a Trust Song. The children had a wonderful day and came back to school excited to share their experience below:

On Friday 28^th March, the Catholic Life Ambassadors, visited The Sacred Heart school to participate in a pupil Voice Conference with the schools from the academy. St John Fisher attended alongside, St George’s, St Joseph’s and The Sacred Heart. We started the day in their hall. We were split into groups so all the schools were mixed. We then started with a prayer and then listened to Miss Higgins, our CEO, talk to us about the importance of our roles. Then some girls from The Sacred Heart led us in some activities where we created collages and made badges to show our commitment to Catholic Social Teaching. After a break, each school stood up and gave a presentation about what they did in school as Catholic Life Ambassadors. We were nervous to speak in front of so many people, but we did really well and Mrs O’Brien was very proud of us.

After the presentations, we were sent to different workshops that were led by some of the pupils from the different schools. The Chair and Vice Chair led a meditation for the groups. The rest of us went to the workshops. There were lots of different activities based around prayer, mission and catholic social teaching.

After lunch time, we sat in our groups again, in the hall and helped to write an academy hymn and an academy prayer. This was really good and we even got to sing the hymn near the end.

We had such a great experience and our confidence has grown since going there.

We would like to thank all the students and teachers for organising this day and that helped to make this day great.
