Maths
March 2025
In Maths, the children have been having fun reinforcing their understanding of how to convert improper fractions to mixed numbers (and vice versa) by playing a game of fraction matching pairs.
March 2025
Year 4 have started their Fractions unit in Maths last week and have been deepening their understanding of fractions that make 1 when added together. They played fraction matching pairs to consolidate their learning and they were concentrating so hard to remember where they had seen the missing fraction before! They have also been developing their understanding of fractions greater than 1 by playing a game with dice and a number line. As they had to roll an exact number to land on the ‘finish line’, you could feel the excited tension growing around the classroom. Great learning Year 4!
February 2025
Year 4 have been learning about rectilinear shapes in their ‘Length and Perimeter’ topic in Maths. They played a game to create the rectilinear shape with the longest perimeter and had lots of fun whilst deepening their understanding.
