As part of child- and adult-led collective worship this week, Year 1 children listened to the Bible story from Luke 5:1–11, The Call of the First Disciples . They learned how Jesus asked ordinary people to follow him and help others, and how the disciples trusted Jesus even when they were unsure. The children reflected on how they can follow in Jesus’ footsteps in their own lives by making kind choices, helping those around them, listening carefully, and trying their best even when something feels difficult. Through discussion, prayer, and quiet reflection, the children thought about how they can show love, courage, and trust in their everyday actions at school and at home.
