Young Ambassadors for Peace
In September 2025, St John Fisher joined the Young Ambassadors for Peace project. This project aims to inspire the younger generation to find peace within themselves, peace within other and peace in nature.
Six children in year 5, have been appointed to this role. They will develop leadership skills, promote teamwork, and become true ambassadors for peace within our community, building unity and respect for all. This project is providing a platform for the younger generation to take the initiative for change. It is an opportunity to invest in their future and make a real difference.
November 2025
Today, our six wonderful Young Ambassadors for Peace (YAPs) took part in their second session, Peace with Others, which linked perfectly with National Anti-Bullying Week.
During the session, the children took part in a series of interactive experiences designed to deepen their understanding of developing peace within themselves, while also learning how to create peace with others and resolve conflict in positive ways .
It was inspiring to see them working together, and with children from other schools, sharing thoughtful ideas , and showing such empathy and maturity throughout the activities
They are now filled with enthusiasm to create their action plan and put their ideas into practice!
October 2025
Our six Year 5 Young Ambassadors for Peace (YAPs) have already begun their inspiring journey to promote kindness, understanding and unity within our school. Today, they marked a meaningful moment in that journey by planting a lavender plant in our Awe and Wonder garden. Chosen for its calming and peaceful qualities, the lavender serves as a lasting symbol of their commitment to being positive role models and peacemakers in our community.
September 2025
Today, six Year 5 pupils began their journey as Young Ambassadors for Peace (YAP), starting with a special Peace Education Day. They had a fantastic first session, representing our school with pride and showing great enthusiasm, maturity, and a genuine commitment to making a positive difference. As part of the day, they collaborated with pupils from other schools and worked together to create an action plan to promote peace in our school and community. They also explored the importance of finding peace within themselves and reflected on how this inner peace can help support others. It was a truly inspiring start to their journey, and we’re looking forward to seeing how they continue to grow in this important role.
