On Wednesday 20th November, we attended a tournament organised by Barnet Football Club at The Hive. We were all nervous but eager to play some more football for our school. We started the tournament extremely well and won our first game 3-0 with 2 goals from Matthew and one from Adrian. Although we won comfortably, it could have been even more as Caolan hit the crossbar twice and Matthew hit the post in the last few seconds, denying him his hat trick. We then won our second game 1-0 after a great goal from Harry and some excellent saves from Olly. Our next two games were really tough and unfortunately we lost them both although we played very well. We qualified for the quarter finals and battled well, but unfortunately we lost and our opposition went on to win the whole tournament. Although we didn’t win, we felt proud to represent our school and had the best time playing football all day! Well done to all of the team: Daniel, Harry, Caolan, Adrian, Matthew, Olly, Joiyal, Kacper, Zach and Aidan (Captain). A huge well done to Matthew who was selected as Player of the Tournament for his great work rate, attitude, goals and determination. We now have to say thank you to a few people: Mr Levison & Miss Betts for coaching us every week; Mr Betts for driving us to and from The Hive and to Sian Osmond from Barnet Football Club who organised the tournament, gave us free ticket vouchers for a London Bees match and five 2019 Match Annuals.
