Saracens Tag Rugby
Last Thursday, we attended the Saracens Sport Foundation Tag Rugby Tournament at Harrow RFC. We felt optimistic about the day ahead and knew we had the potential to do well, especially since lots of us play rugby outside of school! We arrived and had time to have lunch and run through some drills with our two amazing coaches for the day, Mr Butler and Mr Mahon, who both gave up their time to come and help and support us. We played extremely well all day and worked hard as a team; as a result we won all of our games. Look at the table below to see the scores and try scorers!
St John Fisher v St Bernadette’s | 4 – 0 | Matthew x 3 and Olivia |
St John Fisher v Grimsdyke | 4 – 1 | Orla, Anne-Marie, Olivia & Adam |
St John Fisher v Glebe | 5 – 1 | Anne-Marie, Aiden x2, Jeff, Matthew |
St John Fisher v Elmgrove | 3 – 1 | Matthew, Caolán & Curtis |
St John Fisher v West Lodge | 4 – 1 | Matthew x 2 and Caolán x2 |
We were so proud of ourselves at the end of the day and couldn’t believe that every one of us had scored a try and had finished the day unbeaten. Well done to everyone: Orla, Olivia, Anne-Marie, Matthew, Adam, Curtis, Jeff, Aidan and Caolán. A special well done to Adam who was voted as player of the tournament for his leadership skills, teamwork and effort. A huge thank you to Mr Mahon and Mr Butler, we could not have done it without you! Thanks to Mr Betts for driving us to the tournament and to Mr Kelly for teaching us new skills every week.
