We were invited to the first ever Year 4 Pinner Schools Football Tournament which was held at Grimsdyke Primary School. We were all really nervous but also really excited to play football for the school. In our first game we played Pinner Wood and won 3-1, our second game was against Cedars Manor and we won 2-0 and in our third game we beat Pinner Park 2-0. We were feeling like we could do anything we wanted and we knew the cup was in our grasp if we kept playing well. We then played Cannon Lane, who were tough opposition, and we drew 1-1. We then played St Teresa’s and beat them 5-0, Leo even scored a hat-trick! Our final game was against West Lodge and we won 3-1. We knew we had done everything we could but we were all so nervous waiting for the results. Eventually they were announced and guess what … WE WON!! We were screaming our heads off and couldn’t believe what had happened! We were all really proud and couldn’t stop smiling. We were all awarded a medal and we are going to be given a shield with our school name engraved on it that we keep for the year. Well done to: Leo, Sean, Ronan, James, Adam, Valonzo, Jake, Eirrah, Orla, Ciara, Gaia and Lara! A special well done to Jake who was chosen as player of the tournament. Thank you to Miss Betts and Mrs McHugh who coached us on the day and to Mr Betts for driving the minibus. Thank you Grimsdyke School for organsing and hosting the tournament.
