On Wednesday 27th November, we went to The Hive –Barnet FC’s ground – to play in a Year 5 and 6 Girls Football Tournament. We were all excited but a little bit nervous as well as it was our first game as a team! We played our first match and dominated throughout with Olivia scoring two unstoppable goals making the final score 2-0. We felt confident going into the second game and we continued to play well as a team. We won 2-0 again with a great goal from Sophia P and an own goal. We drew the final group game 0-0 and Irene made some amazing saves! We topped our group and went through to the quarter finals but unfortunately we lost 2-0. The team who beat us, then went on to win the whole competition which was exactly the same as the boys last week! We went home feeling very proud but also very wet! Well done to all of the team: Anne-Marie, Niamh, Aoife, Ella, Davina, Olivia, Maame, Sophia P and Irene. A special well done to Olivia who was chosen as the Player of the Tournament for her attitude, leadership skills and determination. Thank you to Mr Levison and Miss Betts for coaching us and to Mr Betts who drove the minibus and fixed the flat tyre so we could get home!
