On Thursday 5th March, we played our second league game against Belmont Primary School. We were confident after our last win but the weather wasn’t great! We dominated the start of the game and had some great chances, Adrian even hit the crossbar! Unfortunately we went 1-0 down but we knew we would fight back! Straight after kick off, Harry scored an excellent goal making the score 1-1. Almost immediately after that, Matthew scored a fabulous goal making it 2-1 going into half time. Mr Levison changed the formation at half time to allow us to attack more. We conceded again, no thanks to the weather, and we were now at 2-2. We all felt frustrated as we knew we could win so we kept fighting and working as a team. As a result, Matthew scored another two goals giving him his first league hat-trick and Jeffrey scored his first league goal for the team which we were all really happy about. We gave away a penalty late on but Joiyal made an outstanding save which meant the final score was 5-2 to St John Fisher! We were freezing cold (apart from Daniel), muddy and wet but we were so proud and happy that we had won again! A special well done to Matthew for winning man of the match for his crucial goals and determination. Well done to all the boys who played: Olly, Kacper, Matthew, Daniel, Zach, Jeffrey, Adrian, Caolán, Aidan (Captain), Joiyal, Alex and Harry. Thank you to Mr Betts for driving the minibus and Mr Levison for coaching us. Keep an eye out for our next result.
