Welcome to St John Fisher's Parent Teacher Association
The Friends’ aim is to help the school and our children, primarily by providing additional resources outside the normal school budget. We do this by organising various social events where the wider school community can come together, get to know each other, have a good time – and hopefully make money for our appeals. We also manage other fundraising opportunities such as the name labels and Christmas pudding initiatives plus the Christmas card project.
Like all PTAs, we rely on parents’ support and are very grateful to the many people who give up their time to help run these events.
We are always looking for new members for the Friends Committee or for people to help out with organising various activities or events.
Any help, no matter how small, is gratefully received and it’s a great way to have a real influence on helping the school. We are always on the lookout for new fund-raising ideas and invariably in need of people to help organise and run events.
Watch out for our events advertised on posters or leaflets in the book bags and around the school, then join in and have fun!
If there is anything you would like to see on this page please let us know - we are very open to new ideas.
Please see below a list of our committee and representatives.

On Friday 26th May, St John Fisher hosted their own Rights Respecting gathering to celebrate all the work that the school has done to retain our award as a Rights Respecting School.
The Friends hosted a coffee morning for parents, carers and grandparents and everyone was invited onto the playground to release 42 balloons to recognise the 42 articles in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. The children wore something blue for the day.
Well done to the winners of our poster competition:
The KS1 poster was designed by Francesca McCarthy and the KS2 poster by Callie Beynon.
Friends' Winter Ball 2017
Thank you so much to everyone who attended our Dazzling Winter Ball on Saturday 25th February. It was another great success and it was lovely to see everyone; parents and their friends/family, ex-parents, teachers and staff, all dressed up and enjoying themselves.
We are also very grateful to all our table sponsors, to those who provided raffle prizes and to everyone who bought a raffle ticket, many of whom are families from our school or local businesses.
As an end of year treat for our children, Friends were again delighted to organise and pay for Reception, Years 1 & 2 to enjoy a Dick Whittington pantomime in school and last week Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 had great fun at the large-scale scalextric event!

Ongoing Fundraising Initiatives
If you are ordering new name labels, don't forget that Label Planet offers parents the opportunity to purchase quality name labels for your children's school uniform, shoes, lunch boxes etc, whilst earning the school commission at the same time.
This money can then be used to continue to help purchase some of the fantastic resources that benefit our children's learning!
