Black History Month

During the month of October we celebrate Black History Month, students in Years 1-6 enjoyed an interactive and educational assembly with Taj where the children vividly reenacted the historic journey of the Empire Windrush on the 22nd June, 1948. Through drama, they brought to life the hopes and challenges faced by the Caribbean passengers who arrived in Britain.

The session highlighted an understanding and appreciation for the Windrush generation. Children of all nationalities were able to relate to the feelings of leaving family behind and starting somewhere new . We look forward to celebrating the achievements of black women over the month with this years theme ‘Saluting Sisters'
