Our Year 4 parents were invited to watch their children perform in our first Poetry Slam. The children have been working hard for the past year with Eastside Projects on improving their creative writing.
The children worked as part of a small group to create and perform a poem. Each performance was judged on content and performance. Our judges were Mrs Conlon, representatives from our Arts Council, Mrs Entezari, our Arts governor and Matt Lane from Eastside Projects.
Everyone was very impressed with the quality of the poetry and the confidence of the performances. Matt Lane commented that we have set the bar high for other schools.
A group will be selected to perform at the Criterion Theatre in July.
Many thanks to Mrs Hinds and the year four staff for arranging this wonderful opportunity and supporting the children.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
