On Wednesday 7th March, 13 pupils from Year 5 represented St John Fisher at the Saints Gymnastics competition at Harrow Gymnastics Club. Although the team had worked tirelessly for weeks to ensure their routines were perfect, nerves were running extremely high, as for many children it was their first time competing. All members of the team performed brilliantly and conducted themselves very well, it was clear that the hours of practice, both at home and school paid off. The B Team were awarded third place and the A Team were awarded first place. We also had success in the individual competitions, Keira O’Malley was awarded bronze and Olivia Harding was crowned as the overall winner. A head coach from Harrow commented that ‘St John Fisher pupils were the most consistent team he had ever seen in a Saints competition.’
Well done to the following children who took part: Thomas Chavez-Kilroy, William Anthony, Sara Garcia-Kelleher, Isabelle Kulanthai, Olivia Sarratt, Callum O’Reilly, Shawn Tauro, Samuel Scarlett, Keira O’Malley, Blanca Pollitt-Lopez, Olivia Seah, Olivia Harding and Dominic Harvey. We are all so proud of you! A massive thank you to Chloe Ridley, a Year 6 sports leader, who gave up her own time to help the team every week. We couldn’t have done it without you.
