Roots to Food

Our school caterers, ISS, generously funded our ‘Roots to Food’ cooking challenge day with Darren Tinkler.  Darren discussed health, well-being and nutrition, focusing on the Eat Well Plate, cooking techniques, the importance of breakfast and a healthy school meal.   There was a ‘Ready, Steady, Cook’ style challenge for KS2 in the morning and workshops for KS1 in the afternoon which included smoothie making!  

The children really enjoyed the 'cook off' between Mrs Cabey's and Mr O'Brien's teams, with Mr O'Brien just winning!  A special well done to all the children who were brave enough to help with the cooking.
