Football Awards
It has been an excellent season for the Year 6 Football team. They have worked hard, showed determination, fantastic skill and great team spirit in all of the matches and tournaments they have played in.
For the first time at St John Fisher, we have decided to give out some awards for the season: player of the year, players’ player and top league goal scorer. Player of the year was chosen by myself and Mr O’Brien and each player voted for their own player of the year.
Firstly, a huge congratulations to Jayden who won top league scorer. Jayden scored in every game this year except one and many of his goals were either game changers or deciders. Well done Jayden, we couldn’t have done so well without you.
Secondly, well done to Lucas who was chosen by his team mates as players’ player of the year. Some of the reasons given were: he scores great goals, he works hard, he always takes players on and his confidence has improved this year. Congratulations Loucas, you should be extremely proud!
Lastly, a huge congratulations to Ronan who was chosen by myself and Mr O’Brien as player of the year. All of the boys were in contention to win this award but Ronan has stood out throughout the season. He has given 110% in every single game he has played for the school and has given everything he possibly could for his team. He has played in different positions over the season and was given many different roles by Mr O’Brien, and he did every one brilliantly. Ronan has a natural talent for sport but he also trains hard and listens to advice. He leads by example and should be extremely proud of himself, well done Ronan.
