Our Year 5 pupils performed a Poetry Slam for parents. The Verse Vs Verse programme has supported the children to create their own poem with the theme being 'Our World'. The children worked in groups of three to create their poem focusing on how to deliver their poem with expression.  We thank our judging panel; Tayah and Michael from the Arts Council, Mrs Entezari, our Arts Governor, Hannah Conway from Eastside Projects and Miss McDonald our writing leader. Thanks also to Mr Sheriff for being our Master of Ceremonies and making the performance so enjoyable.

The children performed their poems with great enthusiasm; it was commented that their confidence has grown since starting the programme in Year 4.  

Year 5 will visit Criterion Theatre to watch all the schools in the project perform their poems.  Two of our groups will be chosen to perform on stage.
