Mrs Mulcahy spoke in assembly about this year's Summer Reading Challenge. The theme this year is 'The Big Friendly Read' linking with the celebrations for the centenary of Roald Dahl's birth. To enter the challenge, children are encouraged to read at least 6 library books over the summer holidays (Sat 16th July - Sat 10th Sept). They can pick up their Big Friendly Read Collectors folder from their local Harrow library and will receive collectable cards for each book they read. Those who complete the challenge will be awarded a medal and certificate and, as in previous years, we look forward to celebrating a great many of these in our celebration assemblies in the Autumn term. As an added bonus this year, children are also being offered a free trip during the holidays to the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre - just for taking part! For more details, please speak to your local library. Happy reading!
