Tate Britain Project
St John Fisher school is taking part in a Tate Britain project. Steve McQueen, an Oscar-winning film-maker and artist is gathering thousands of class photographs of Year 3 classes. All 2,410 primary schools in London have been invited to take part in the project.
McQueen said it is a project that allowed us to "reflect on who we are, where we come from, what is the future?"
The Tate Britain project continued with a workshop that explored identity. Year 3 children took part in three activities across the day to explore identity. The children created artwork and ideas for a 'vault' that would capture and share things about them that a photograph could not. Parents were invited to an assembly to see some of the artwork that the children had created.
The photographs will go on display in Tate Britain's Duveen galleries between November 2019 and May 2020. There will be an outdoor exhibition in each of London's 33 boroughs.
