We celebrated the centenary of Roald Dahl's birth by focusing on some of his popular books during the first week of term. Each year group chose a book to read and explore using different areas of the curriculum. Children used their imagination to make up their own whizzpopping 'Marvellous Medicine' recipes and Dream Jars.
Teachers were able to use the focus stories to plan lessons across the curriculum; measuring giants, painting favourite scenes, poetry and much more.
At the end of the week the children came to school dressed as their favourite Roald Dahl character. We held a very interesting assembly to celebrate some of the hard work that had been done throughout the week.
Well done to Mrs Mulcahy for planning this event and all the staff for working so hard to make it such a success.
