To celebrate Harvest time, grandparents, elderly neighbours and parishioners were invited to our special assembly. The assembly was led by our Year 1 - Year 6 Clitherow classes. Our three Reception classes also took part. Our children worked hard to learn the words to lots of new and traditional hymns and songs. Some of the older children made up prayers thanking God for the harvest and thinking of others who do not have as much as we do.
Mrs Lyons had asked the children to bake some cakes for homework at the weekend. We have some very talented bakers among our children and parents! After the assembly our guests were invited to stay for tea and cakes, they also had the opportunity to buy some cakes. Our Year 6 children were very attentive hosts, serving tea and chatting.
Later in the afternoon parents were invited to come in for a cup of tea and support the cake sale.
Many thanks to the Friends of St John Fisher who helped with the tea and cake sale.
Due to the generosity of our families we raised almost £400 which our School Council has decided to donate to the Multiple Sclerosis Trust. Thank you for your continued support.
