Friends of the School
The Friends are a committee of volunteers drawn from parents of the school, staff and a parent governor. The committee changes every year during the AGM. The role of the Friends committee is to raise money towards the funding of school equipment to enhance our children’s experience whilst at school. We raise money by organising a variety of fun events whilst promoting a family spirit for all of the parents at St John Fisher.
By the end of this school year we will have organised 15 different social occasion for both parents and children ranging from the Dinner and Dance to tea and coffee afternoons for the parents and from ice skating to Christmas shopping for the children. We also organise the ever popular children’s end of term discos, and of course the summer Fair.

So far this year, we have been able to provide our school with further Net-books for the classrooms, Christmas arts and crafts materials and the fabulous Christmas skating extravaganza for our children. Our overall aim for this year is to raise enough funds to purchase new PE equipment for the school hall.
This year we are also holding a summer Fun Day, where parents and children past, present and future can join in with all sorts of fun and activities. Finally, we are always looking for new members, so if you’re a parent at the school and can spare some time, please speak to one our current committee members to find out how to join.
